Last update: April 2026; written on my desk on a warm spring afternoon

A General Update

I am still working at Helvia and living peacefully in my little hometown with my beautiful companion. I am happy with that. I don’t want to live in big cities and, as I grow older, I feel I am attracted more and more to nature and the countryside. Not that I am in the countryside, but to give you an idea. I am in the perfect compromise between my “I wanna go living in the middle of a forest” and my partner “I don’t want to live too far away.” My hometown is also growing more interesting in the last years, with more events and cultural activities and sport events and new shops.

The year didn’t start great. I am quite depressed an drained of energy and goodwill. But this is something that I have to manage myself. Hopefully this year I’ll find the courage to tackle the consequences of what I want.

But, on the plus side, we have a cat now. We found him at the end of December on our doorsteps. We called him Pepito.

Things I did recently

• I am learning Elixir. It is a cool language. If incremental typing lands soon, it will be close to my perfect language.

Things I am Working On

As someone with more ideas than time or energy to pursue them, this list will be a mess. But anyway, here’s what I’m working on:

• I am sitting on 3 first-draft novels I will have to revise at some point.
  • I am now really focusing on my second novel, Boss Fight. It bothers me that I never finished the rewrite after the first short draft I made during NaNoWriMo. So, I want this done.
• I would like to resume writing on my Italian blog L’Ornitorinco Elegante.
• Everything else (blog posts and personal projects) are in a confusing mess, but I am kinda working things out.
• Not a lot of updates, I have to say. A bit disappointing.

Things I am Reading

I am reading a lot of various books. There is no theme, so far. Right now, I am reading Anathem by Neal Stephenson.

Things I am Watching

In 2024, I watched almost 200 movies. I rediscovered my movie passion and that I actually have a lot of time for them if I remove all the useless crap I did in their place.

• I subscribed to Apple TV+ once again. It is time to catch up to all the series I missed such the new season of Foundation, Pluribus, The Studio and more.
• I finally watched all the 007 movies. They sucks.

Things I am Playing

Pokémon Pokopia of course. Really. Only Pokopia.

Most importantly, I am running a D&D campaign! That’s great. And I am discovering a lot of solo-RPGs to play.
